I have been on the BOE for 16 years. I have served as Chairman of the Board of Education for 4 years. Former Chair Finance Committee for 12 years, Board of Education, Citizens Against Substance Abuse (CASA), Founding Member and Treasurer, BS Accounting, Post College, Former Room Mom, Wolcott Public Schools, Reading Is Everybody’s Business, former member of Program & Operations/Facilities, Board of Education Committee Member, Former Member of West Region DDS Regional Action Council. Proud parent of three Wolcott High School recent graduates.
Roberta Leonard
I have been on the BOE for 14 years. I currently serve as Secretary on the Board of Education and am a member of the Facilities Committee. I am the Chair of the Programs & Operations Committee. I am currently a Governing Board member for ACES representing Wolcott. I am a lifelong Wolcott resident. I was a teacher for Wolcott Public Schools for 35 years. I have one daughter Jennie who graduated from WHS and a Uhart Graduate. I served on the Wolcott Town Council for 10 years. Wolcott Historical Society member, Former Member Board of Assessment Appeals, Former Member Inlands, Wetlands Commission.

Kelly Fitzgerald Mazza
I have served on the BOE for 8 years and am currently the Vice Chair. I serve as the Chair of the Negotiations Committee and also serve on the Facilities Committee. A Wolcott High School graduate, I hold a Masters in Teaching. I have lived in Wolcott for 40 years. I am the Vice President of Human Resources at the Hospital for Special Care. A Veteran of the Army National Guard, I served on the Veterans Advocacy Commission. I am also a board member for the Edgewood Cemetery Association. I also volunteer for several local organizations. My hus band, Nick, and I are the proud parents of Ethan (WHS Class of 2022) and Emersyn ( WHS Class of 2027).
Melissa Hughes
I have been serving on the Wolcott Board of Education since November of 2022. I serve on the facilities and finance committees for the Board of Education. I am currently the owner of a Home Daycare Learning Center in Wolcott. I previously served as a Special Education Teacher for 21 years. I also serve as the Chairwoman of the Wolcott Republican Town Committee. I have lived in Wolcott with my family, Sean, Elizabeth, and Charlotte Hughes since 2013..
Bernadette Oullette
I have been a Wolcott resident since 2003. I am married to my husband Gary with two daughters; Veronica (WHS 2019) and Kaitlyn (WHS 2022) I have worked as a Waterbury Public School Teacher for the past 31 years. I currently work as a Pre-K Teacher at Rotella Interdistrict Magnet School. I am an active member of the Farmingbury Women’s Club and former member of Frisbie and Tyrrell Middle School’s PTO.I was the recording Secretary for Tyrrell Middle School’s PTO. I am a former member of the WHS Parent Action Council, the Scholarship Committee for WHS Softball, the Wolcott Senior Balloons fundraiser and the WHS Dance, Volleyball and Softball Booster Clubs.
Nikoleta Kollchaku
I have been a member of the Wolcott Board of Education since 2021; I also serve on Operation & Programs and Personal Committees. I am a dedicated educator with 40 years of experience: 14 years teaching Mathematics and Physics in Albania and 26 years in the Waterbury School System. I hold a 6th plus 15 degree in Mathematics and am currently teaching mathematics at Waterbury Career Academy. I am passionate about creating and engaging an effective learning environment for all students as well as a strong advocate for public education. I was Teacher of the Year during the 2019-2020 school year. My husband, Chris, and I have been proud to live in this beautiful town since 2003. Our son’s and daughter’s families also live in Wolcott.
