Melissa Hughes – Chairwoman
Melissa was elected unanimously by the Wolcott RTC as chairwoman in March of 2020. Melissa has lived in Wolcott for 8 years and has volunteered her time and support to the Wolcott Republican Party during that time. Melissa has helped organize several party fundraisers including a Lincoln Day dinner back in February of 2018 and a Picnic in September 2020. Melissa is the wife of Sean Hughes the current Secretary of the Party and Current BOE member. Melissa also has two children Elizabeth and Charlotte who attend Wakelee Elementary School.

Sean Cleary – Vice Chairman
Sean was elected as vice-chair of the Wolcott RTC by a unanimous vote in May of 2021. Sean also seves as the CTGOP State Central Committeeman for Senate District 16. Since 2015, Sean has worked for the CT State Senate Republicna Caucus as a policy analyst. Previously he has worked for various Republican candidates including; Linda McMahon, Tom Foley, Peter Lumaj, Senator Rob Sampson, and Representative Gale Mastrofrancesco as well as our local elected boards. Sean is a graduate of the Wolcott Public School system and continued on to earn both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University. A proud lifelong resident of Wolcott, Sean and his wife Tippawan live in Council District 1 with their dog, Guinness.
